Applications may be submitted online January 16 – March 31, 2024.
The deadline for applications, transcripts and recommendation letter to be received is March 31, 2024 (11:59 PM CST). Please note that incomplete and late applications are not eligible.
All high school seniors who meet the requirements below are eligible.
- Must be a graduating high school senior enrolled in one of the following school districts: Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland, Millington, or Shelby County
- U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Plan to attend an accredited 2 year or 4 year college or university within the U.S, in a full-time degree seeking program for the first time
- Must have a GPA of at least 2.25 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum ACT/SAT not required
- Students pursuing degree in any major
- Letter of recommendation from one of your high school teachers
- Applicants must complete a 500 word essay on “Creating solutions to end gun violence and promoting gun safety”. Essay must have a minimum of 500 words and no more than 550 words
- All finalists will be interviewed
Recipients will be notified of their award after in-person interviews have been completed.
Absolutely, we take many factors into consideration when determining your candidacy for the scholarship. Leadership, community service, socio-economic factors, the quality of your essay and other strengths are all taken into account in the decision making process.
